Sabre Travel Network hosts industry forum in Cairo

Bahrain-based Sabre Travel Network Middle East (STNME) yesterday hosted an Airline Distribution Forum in Cairo, bringing together airlines and travel agents from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to discuss global and regional industry trends. The event - held at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel - discussed a host of issues including the emergence of merchandising and how airlines can introduce new ancillary services to boost revenues, new trends in revenue management, online booking solutions for corporations and the benefits of building closer relationships with corporations and travel management companies. Representatives from regional airlines including Air Arabia, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, Nile Air, Sevenair, Syrian Arab Airlines, Tunis Air, Wataniya Airways, Iran Air, Mahan Airlines, Qatar Airways and Yemen Airways were in attendance. “We are investing heavily in our Egyptian business and this Forum demonstrates our commitment to helping our regional customers get through the current economic climate and recent challenges like the volcano travel crisis by leveraging trends to enhance the health and performance of the travel industry,” said Daniel Naoumovitch, Chief Executive Officer of Sabre Travel Network Middle East. “We have been actively helping all our customers through the recent ash crisis and I am confident that with our experience in this area and our unparalleled track record of servicing the regional travel industry, this event will enable our customers to improve their business performance resulting in bottom line profitability,” he said.
