Sarovar Hotels plots expansion course

Sarovar Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to achieve a 100-strong portfolio by 2020, Anil Mathur reports. Speaking at the opening of the 80-room Optus Sarovar Premiere hotel, Gurgaon, on Tuesday, the company’s Managing Director, Anil Madhok, told an audience that Sarovar hoped to expand from its current 41 hotels to 50 by 2012, rising to 100 by 2020. Sarovar is currently the fourth largest hotel operator in India. The company currently has a pipeline of 36 properties, all in India.
