SAS returns to profit in Q2

SAS Group has returned the black for the second quarter of 2011, posting net profits of SEK551 million (US$85.3 million), compared to a loss of SEK600 million the same period last year. The Scandinavian airline’s revenue increased 12.5% year-on-year to SEK11.23 billion, off the back of a 17.8% jump in passenger traffic.
For the first six months of the year, SAS posted profits of SEK178 million, compared to a SEK1.21 billion loss in H1 2010.
