Shanghai delivers first overhauled aircraft engine

SINGAPORE, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — SINGAPORE AIR SHOW — The Shanghai Engine Center, a joint venture of Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) , and China Eastern Airlines, delivered its first heavy overhauled CFM56 engine. The new center has capacity to overhaul up to 300 engines annually and is one of the largest CFM56 engine overhaul shops in Asia.
“It is exciting to deliver this first engine and have it returned to service,” said Shanghai Engine Center General Manager Chan Kwai Wan. “As we begin increasing volume in the shop, we invite operators to visit our overhaul center to see its advanced capabilities and unrivaled facility features.”
