Shangri-La Hotel Sydney will commence a AU$20 million (US$20.3 million) refurbishment of its guestrooms from May 2011. The upgrade will include the refurbishment of 442 guestrooms located on levels 4 to 29 and is targeted for completion in September 2011.
All hotel guestrooms and suites received upgrades to technological equipment including widescreen LCD televisions, Foxtel satellite channels and complimentary broadband and Wi-Fi Internet access, as well as iPod docking stations, media hubs and custom designed furniture.
“We are looking forward to proceeding with the guestroom upgrade, which will further strengthen Shangri-La’s position as the cities leading five-star deluxe hotel and provide a new benchmark for luxury accommodation in Sydney,” said Franz Donhauser, Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney’s General Manager.
Interior design company Hassell will spearhead the guestroom refurbishment, with senior interior designer Grace Guo taking the lead role.
Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney completed renovation of the hotel’s 111 Horizon Club suites and guestrooms in 2006.
Shangri-La Hotel Sydney is located in the Rocks district between the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
