Sharjah showcases tourism opportunities to Kyrgyzstan delegation

HE Mohamed Ali Al Noman, chairman, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) recently met up with consul general of Kyrgyz Republic, HE Kuban Omuraliev in Sharjah.
Noman lauded efforts of UAE Government for rapid development of infrastructure in the country while at the same time stressing on Sharjah’s own initiatives for development and progress.
Al Noman briefed the Kyrgyz delegation about objectives, role and responsibilities of SCTDA and on latest developments in Sharjah’s tourism sector and various upcoming projects.
He further elaborated that the Authority has been encouraging greater investments in the emirate’s tourism industry, especially hotel facilities and infrastructure, especially in view of growing number of tourists to the emirate which exceeded 1.7 million last year. Hotel occupancy touched 80% during first quarter of this year.
