Starwood Hotels & Resorts has continued its growth in Vietnam with the signing of its first Sheraton in Danang.
Scheduled to open in early 2018, the new Sheraton Danang Resort will located next to Danang Beach and will offer 250 rooms, a spa, swimming pool, fitness centre, several restaurants and more than 1,000m² of meeting space, including two ballrooms.
“We are excited to introduce the Sheraton brand in Danang, considered one of Vietnam’s most popular vacation spots,” said Lothar Pehl, Starwood’s senior vice president of operations & global initiatives for Asia Pacific.
“As the largest and most global brand for Starwood, we are confident that Sheraton Danang is well-positioned to meet the demands of business and leisure travellers alike.”
Sheraton Danang Resort will join Starwood’s existing portfolio of four properties in Vietnam: Sheraton Hanoi Hotel, Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Towers, Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa and the recently-opened Le Meridien Saigon. And its expansion will continue in future, with plans to introduce the Four Points by Sheraton brand to Danang in 2017.
“Vietnam continues to be among the world’s fastest growing emerging economies and poses many opportunities for our hotel brands,” said Rajit Sukumaran, Starwood’s senior vice president of acquisitions & development for Asia Pacific. “The signing of Sheraton Danang Resort strengthens the current and growing Starwood footprint in the country and signifies our confidence in the long term growth plan of Vietnam.”
