Singapore Airlines (SIA) now serves Los Angeles using its flagship Airbus A380. The inaugural Singapore-Tokyo-Los Angeles superjumbo service departed Changi airport shortly after 0930 on Friday with nearly 400 customers on board.
The Californian city is the eighth destination in SIA’s network and its first point in North America to receive the Singapore-based carrier’s A380.
“The introduction of the A380 to Los Angeles is another wonderful milestone in our history. We have had the privilege of serving customers on this route since 1980, and we are proud to be able to introduce our flagship aircraft to North America. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the industry-leading cabin products available on the A380,” said Mak Swee Wah, SIA’s Executive Vice President – Commercial.
The SIA A380 will operate daily between Singapore and Los Angeles, via Tokyo’s Narita airport.
