Virgin Australia and Singapore Airlines have launched a new frequent flyer initiative, enabling members of the two airlines’ FFPs to convert their miles.
Members of Virgin’s Velocity Frequent Flyer and SIA’s KrisFlyer programmes will now be able to convert their points and miles between the two programmes at a rate of 1.35 to 1.00. The conversion rate reflects the fact that each FFP operates in a different reward programme currency.
And according to the airlines, this will offer “greater access to reward seats and flight upgrades on one another’s airlines”.
“We are continually looking for ways to innovate in the loyalty space to ensure our members are getting the most out of the programme,” said Velocity Frequent Flyer’s CEO, Neil Thompson.
“The introduction of this unique conversion opportunity between KrisFlyer and Velocity Frequent Flyer will allow us to take the programme to the next level for our members.”
To take advantage of the conversion initiative, customers need to be a member of both FFPs.
