Silver Spirit offers unrivalled on-board speaker line-up

Silversea Cruises’ 119-day world cruise next year will see an array of distinguished speakers step on board as part of the upmarket cruise line’s onboard enrichment programme.
Historians, explorers, Egyptologists and archaeologists will share with guests their expert local knowledge and cultural insights of the regions that the journey takes.
As the world’s newest ultra-luxury, all-suite cruise ship, Silver Spirit, takes to the seas on 19 January 2011.
Travelling on the first leg of the journey between Los Angeles to Auckland (voyage 5103), New Zealand archaeologist Mark Eddowes will share details of the extensive fieldwork he has conducted in the South Pacific over the last 20 years. He will also speak on subjects including “Ancient Tahiti at the Time of Captain James Cook’s Voyages” and his take on the ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’.
The Sydney to Hong Kong section (voyage 5106) will be joined by explorer and writer Lawrence Blair who will talk about his 10-year epic journey across the Indonesian archipelago, during which he sailed with gipsy pirates and spent time with cannibal tribes.
The final leg of the journey from Athens to Southampton (voyage 5110) will be joined by British historian and biographer, Robert Lacy, who has written numerous international bestsellers including Majesty. He will offer guests an insight into the British Monarchy.
