Singapore Airlines has reported an increase of 13.9% in revenue passenger kilometres throughout March. Passenger numbers rose by 9.5% to 1.4 million with a passenger load factor of 80.8%. Capacity fell by 2.2% due to a reduction in frequencies to Vancouver and Pakistan and the transfer of Hyderabad and Penang operations to SilkAir. All regions recorded improved passenger load factors, helped by the Easter holiday shift from April to March. Cargo capacity reduced by 4.2% although traffic increased by 12%. As a result, the overall load factor in March 2010 improved by 9.9%.
