Singaporean travellers will be offered a new option for travel to Africa next year, when Ethiopian Airlines launches non-stop flights from Changi Airport.
The new direct service between Singapore and Addis Ababa will commence in June 2017 and will operate five times a week. Flights will depart the Ethiopian capital every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 0040 and arrive in Singapore at 1450. The return services then leave at 0200 and arrive back in Addis Ababa at 0620.
The new route will be operated using Ethiopian’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with 270 seats in two classes.
“In our continuous effort of connecting the continent of Africa with its major trading partners around the world… we are glad that we are able to offer a direct and non-stop service to the Lion City, Singapore,” said Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines.
This route continues the airline’s expansion in Asia, following the launch of services to Shanghai in 2014 and Tokyo and Manila in 2015.
