Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has appointed Carsten Lima to the newly created role of vice president of sales, EMEA.
Lima rejoins SLH at the company’s London headquarters as the business renews its focus on sales from a travel trade and consumer perspective.
In his new role, Lima will lead SLH’s sales strategy within EMEA with ultimate responsibility for key EMEA sales accounts, developing the corporate sales segment and the sales events calendar.
He reports to Filip Boyen, CEO of Small Luxury Hotels of the World™.
Originally of Danish origin, Lima previously worked with SLH in a senior sales role from 2010 to 2013. His most recent role was area director Asia Pacific for Design Hotels and his 16 years’ experience has seen him work for other hospitality brands such as Epoque Hotels and Luxury Lifestyle Hotels.
Lima is the third most recent executive who has returned to SLH following short stints elsewhere, which the company says is testament to the strength of the brand.
Boyen said: “This is a homecoming for Carsten, who was part of the SLH family three years ago in similar roles. We welcome him back to continue the great efforts our team has made in recent years. He is a seasoned executive who brings a wealth of knowledge and he will be critical in developing our key accounts within the region”.
Lima added: “It’s great to return to a company that is ambitious and forward thinking. I’m looking forward to driving stronger alliances with the travel trade and expanding our overall partnerships”.
Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a brand of more than 520 hotels in 80 countries and has this year already added 31 new hotels including Palé Hall, Wales; Totem Madrid, Spain; and The President by Akaryn, Laos.
