AccorHotels has continued to expand its luxury Sofitel portfolio in China with the opening of its first resort in Sanya.
The new Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort is set on the coast at Haitang Bay and offers 477 rooms, suites and villas overlooking the South China Sea. All rooms come equipped with Bluetooth sound systems, large satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi, while the Club Millesime executive rooms also feature Nespresso coffee machines.
Other facilities at the resort include five restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness centre, outdoor swimming pools, mah-jong and KTV rooms, a kids’ club with pool, and horse riding. And for the MICE market there are nine meeting rooms and a 1,100m² ballroom.
The Sanya opening follows the recent launch of the Sofitel Kunming, in southwest China’s Yunnan province.
“The opening of Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort marks a period of rapid expansion in China for AccorHotels, as we continue to strengthen our commitment to bringing exquisite French hospitality for discerning business and leisure travellers to the Greater China region,” said Michel Molliet, AccorHotels’ chief operating officer for Greater China.
“This stunning new resort is reminiscent of the French Riviera and is an ideal choice for travellers looking to experience authentic French hospitality with a touch of flair and elegance.”
Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort becomes the luxury brand’s 21st property in China, and its expansion in Hainan province will continue later this year with the planned opening of the Sofitel Haikou in August 2016.
