Sofitel signs first hotel in Turkmenistan

Sofitel has opened its first property in Turkmenistan. The Sofitel Ashgabat Oguzkent features 251 rooms and 48 suites, including 14 325-square metre Presidential Suites. The hotel is located in downtown Ashgabat, the capital of the Central Asian state, across from the Neutrality Arch.
Facilities at the hotel include an 800-square metre ‘negotiation room’ which can seat up to 30 delegates, as well as a 2,500-square metre conference centre hosting up to 1,000 people.
In terms of F&B facilities, the Amu Darya restaurant offers international cuisine with an open kitchen and outdoor terrace by the pool. The Akhal Teke restaurant meanwhile, serves Turkmen, Turkish and Lebanese cuisine. On the hotel’s top floor, La Table bar and restaurant offers fine French dining.
Leisure facilities at the hotel include an indoor pool, two outdoor pools, 12 massage rooms, two saunas, and a fitness room.
