SpiceJet has launched a new direct service from Amritsar to Dubai.
The inaugural service was flagged off with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony at Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport, attended by GP Gupta, SpiceJet’s chief administrative officer, and V Venkateswara Rao, Amritsar’s airport director. On arrival in Dubai, the aircraft received a water cannon salute.
“Dubai features amongst our most prominent destinations within our international network,” said Gupta. “This route has always witnessed enhanced demand and the launch of this flight will provide holidaymakers and business travellers alike with more travel options coupled with our superior service quality levels.
“We are also the only private Indian carrier to directly connect Amritsar to any international destination,” he noted.
SpiceJet will now operate the route six times a week (every day except Saturday) using its Boeing 737 aircraft.
Following the launch, SpiceJet now offers direct connections to Dubai from eight Indian cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kochi, Madurai, Amritsar and Kozhikode.
