Stansted Citylink, the new non-stop bus service linking Stansted Airport with Central London, has officially launched.
The concession to operate into and out of the Airport was won by ComfortDelGro in a competitive tendering process run by Stansted Airport.
Andrew Harrison, managing director for Stansted Airport, said: “With the signing of this new partnership with Stansted Citylink, we are delighted to offer passengers this new direct service into Central London. Stansted is proud to be the leading major UK airport for public transport use with 50% of passengers using train, bus and coach to travel to and from Stansted. We hope with the launch of Stansted Citylink , this trend will grow even further, especially as this marks the first and only direct, non-stop express coach service connecting Stansted Airport with King’s Cross / St Pancras / Euston, one of the fastest growing areas of Central London. Stansted is the UK’s fastest growing airport serving more than 22 million passengers a year and we are confident that this route will be popular with both inbound and outbound passengers.”
Jaspal Singh, CEO ComfortDelGro (UK and Ireland), said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Stansted Airport. This new route links Stansted Airport directly with King’s Cross, a key London hub, which boasts unrivalled connectivity with six underground lines and two national rail stations. Ongoing financial investment in the area is reflected in the local development, transforming King’s Cross into a premium destination in the capital. We are offering our passengers a high quality, direct coach service with an average journey time of 70 minutes, depending on traffic. Our drivers have the added advantage of being empowered to vary their routes to ensure the fastest arrival time.”
Adult tickets are priced at £8 one way or £15 return and are on sale online at www.stanstedcitylink.com.
