TAT taps luxury tourism

The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) in India is tapping the upcoming luxury segment.
To give a feel of Thailand’s luxury offering TAT’s New Delhi office along with Odysseus India organised fam trips for luxury-end agents to visit the destination. A total of 10 agents from Delhi, Kolkata, Punjab and Bengaluru participated in the trip from 4-10 August 2012.
The trip showcased luxury and romance destinations such as Krabi, Khao Lak, Phuket and Chiang Mai, visiting properties including the Ritz-Carlton Phulay Bay, Sofitel Krabi, Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort and Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi. The tourism board aims to increase revenue from Indian travellers by 20% in 2012, with 10% growth in the number of travellers.
