ROBERT GAYMER-JONES has been appointed Chief Executive Officer for Sofitel Worldwide. Gaymer-Jones joined the Accor’s luxury brand in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer after holding a variety of senior positions, notably with Marriott International.
DOUGLAS M. STEENLAND has been announced as the new Vice Chairman of Travelport’s Board of Directors. Steenland has held numerous executive roles, most recently President & Chief Executive Officer of Northwest Airlines Corporation.
EDMOND IP has been appointed as Hilton Worldwide’s Chairman for Greater China. Ip, who will be based between Singapore and Shanghai, was previously Non-Executive Director and Chief Adviser to the Board of the Kosmopolito Hotels International.
WINSTON CHIEN has been announced as Carlson Hotels’ new Vice President for China. A Chinese national, Chien served Hilton for many years, and most recently has worked with Jumeirah as the Dubai-based company’s China representative.
KEVIN BROWN has been announced as the new Chief Executive Officer for North Queensland Airport Group, based in Cairns. The former Managing Director of Edinburgh Airport in the UK, Brown will be responsible for two airports – Cairns and Mackay.
RADHA ARORA has been named as the new President of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, the Texas-based luxury hotel company. Arora, who will assume his new role on 5 September, arrives from Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts’ Beverly Wilshire property.
KEITH HERDMAN has been announced as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB). Herdman has been part of MCVB’s senior management since August 2006, and takes over from Sandra Chipchase.
DAVID BEST has been announced as BBA Aviation’s new President for Asia Pacific. Best joined Signature Flight Support (a BBA Aviation company) in 2004 as Managing Director for EMEA. He was promoted to the role of Chief Commercial Officer in 2009.
ATILLA ERDA has been announced as the new Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Absolute Hotel Services Group. Erda has experience in several hospitality companies, including Santiburi Group, Le Meridien and the Unique Collection.
JAMES STEVENSON has taken the role of Global Sales Director for Hogg Robinson Group (HRG). Stevenson has previously the General Manager of HRG’s joint venture in China, HRG Jin Jiang China, and also served as Vice President for Asia Pacific.
GUY POUJOULAT has been appointed General Manager of the Sofitel Bangkok Silom.
A Swiss national, Poujoulat joined the Sofitel brand in 1994, most recently as Area General Manager for the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa Sea & Spa, Bahrain.
EDITH KRAAIJEVELD has been named as Air France-KLM’s new Public Relations Manager for Singapore, Indonesia, Australia & New Zealand. Ms Kraaijeveld joined KLM in 1996, and was previously the regional Customer Relationship Manager.
GREG WILLIAMS has been appointed General Manager of Alila Sothea, Siem Reap. Originally from Sydney, Williams worked in Australia and Fiji, before moving to the Alila Villas Hadahaa, Maldives, where he also served as General Manager.
ALEXANDRU DORUS has been appointed General Manager of the Swiss-Belhotel Golden Sand Resort & Spa in Hoi An, Vietnam. Dorus has 15 years of hotel management experience in countries including Romania, Russia, Ukraine and Egypt.
RENATA HUTASOIT has been announced as the new Group Director of Sales & Marketing for Karma Resorts. Ms Hutasoit has 15 years’ experience, and previously held the position of Director of Marketing for the ultra-luxury Bulgari Resort Bali.
LAURENT QUARTA has been appointed Executive Assistant Manager of the Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa. A French national, Quarta previously worked for two hotels in Senegal, including a spell as Front Office Manager at the Radisson Blu Dakar.
SRAITHONG BOONBURAPHONG has been named as the new Director of Sales & Marketing for the Rest Detail Hotel Hua Hin, Thailand. Ms Sraithong has 18 years’ experience, most recently as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hansar Bangkok.
PETER VAN PEBORGH-GOOCH has taken over as Director of Sales & Marketing at the AYANA Resort & Spa Bali. A UK national, Van Peborgh-Gooch has previously worked for Ritz-Carlton, IHG, Hilton Worldwide and the Savoy Group.
