Tenerife Tourism Corporation is aiming to boost its profile amongst travel agents to change perceptions and boost visitation to the island.
The tourism board has extended its contract with Hume Whitehead to include trade activity, which will include training and promoting a different image of the island to agents. Fam trips, roadshows, events and development of its online training scheme will also be part of the remit.
Latest recruit Katherine Warren will take the trade account manager role having previously held a similar position at Tourism New Zealand.
“Having a trade contact on the ground in the UK will help us open up new opportunities and enable us to meet much more regularly with our important trade partners,” said Pia Louw, travel trade director at Tenerife Tourism Corporation.
