THAI helps with Japan relief effort

Thai Airways International (THAI) has flown cargo planes laden with donated goods to Japan to assist earthquake and tsunami relief effort. The airline’s President, Piyasvasti Amranand, said that the Thai government had requested cooperation from THAI, following which the national carrier had started the shipping the goods. Yesterday, THAI transported seven tons of relief goods including 1.3 tons of blankets, 4.8 tons of drinking water and a ton of flashlights.
