The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has reassured British companies and tourists that the country is safe and open for business after civil peaceful protests broke out in Bangkok this week.
TAT said the country should not be avoided or alarmed by the peaceful protest and increased security in the country, although advised tourists to avoid the areas where the crowds gather.
This is predominantly around the Democracy Monument, Phan Fa Bridge and Makkawan Bridge on Ratchadamnoen Avenue areas where traffic may be closed off during demonstrations.
Otherwise all transport and attractions are running as usual.
A Security Act has been placed by the Thai Cabinet in the Dusit, Phra Nakhon and Pom PrapSattru Phai areas of Bangkok until 30 November to “ensure order during the demonstrations”.
