DR CARL JONES has been announced as American Express Global Business Travel’s new vice president of global client management, Asia Pacific. A UK national, Dr Jones spent the last 12 months at Carlson Wagonlit Travel where he was general manager for the company’s Solutions Group in Asia Pacific.
DAVID MORAN been appointed chief executive officer of MTT, mobile travel technology company recently acquired by Travelport. A dual US and Irish national, Moran previously led ChangingWorlds Inc, a company providing personalisation solutions to mobile operating companies. He joins MTT on 1 March.
CRAIG THOMAS has become Etihad Airways’ new general manager for the United States, based in New York. A South African national, Thomas most recently served as Etihad’s general manager for Canada and was previously based in Bangkok as regional GM for Asia Pacific North and the Indian Subcontinent.
PATRICK J GRISMER has been announced as Hyatt’s new chief financial officer, effective 14 March. Grismer joins Hyatt from his previous post as chief financial officer at YUM! Brands, and he has also worked for the Walt Disney Company in several senior roles, including CFO for the Disney Vacation Club.
ARIF PATEL has been named as AccorHotels’ new vice president of sales, marketing & distribution for India. Patel has more than two decades of experience with large domestic brands such as ITC hotels and Oberoi hotels. Most recently he was Starwood’s regional director of sales & marketing for South Asia.
BASTIEN BLANC has become FRHI Hotels & Resorts’ new has vice president of sales & marketing for the Middle East, Africa and India. Blanc brings more than 24 years’ experience to the role, including several GM positions with AccorHotels. Most recently he worked for Interstate Hotels.
ANNIE CHNG-LUCHAU has become Design Hotels’ new regional director of sales for Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. She joins the company with 15 years of hotel experience with companies including Ritz-Carlton and Preferred Hotels. Most recently she was regional sales director for The Collektion.
PHUONG NAM NGUYEN has become the new manager of the Apricot Hotel in Hanoi. A native of Hanoi, Ms Nguyen moves to the Apricot from another city property, the Prestige Hotel Hanoi, where she was GM for almost five years. She previously spent 11 years at Hanoi’s Sunway Hotel.
RONALD DOOREMALEN has been appointed hotel manager of the Raffles Hotel Singapore. He joins the famous old property from Raffles Praslin in the Seychelles, where he was director of operations. Previous roles have taken Dooremalen to leading hotels in China, Singapore, the UK, UAE and Egypt.
DIAN SEPTO PRAMONO has been appointed general manager of the Harris Hotel Samarinda, which is operated by Tauzia Hotel Management. Dian is no stranger to Tauzia, having previous been executive assistant Manager at the Harris Hotel & Conventions Bekasi. He has also worked for Marriott.
