A plan to build a third terminal at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TTIA) has been submitted for government approval, Taiwan News reported the country’s Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) as saying this week. The CAA said the new terminal would have a capacity of 43 million passengers per year - more than the combined total of Terminals 1 and 2, which can cater for approximately 29 million people. TTIA’s aging Terminal One is currently undergoing a TW$3.2 billion (US$98.4 million) renovation, which is scheduled for completion in August 2011.
