Thomson Airways’ first long-haul flights from Manchester and Glasgow onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner took off today.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon was on hand to check-in flights from Manchester to Florida while the initial Glasgow to Cancun service took off.
“Today is a very special day as for the first time ever we are taking customers on their long haul holidays from Manchester and Glasgow Airports on the Thomson 787 Dreamliner. We’re the first UK airline to fly the 787 Dreamliner and hope our customers will enjoy the unique experience of this revolutionary new aircraft,” said Chris Browne, managing director of Thomson Airways.
“The extended flying range of the Dreamliner also unlocks a host of new and exciting holiday options for our customers, increasing the range of long haul destinations available with Thomson Airways to include Thailand, Mauritius and Puerto Vallarta,” she added.
Thomson has eight Dreamliners on order which will be delivered up to May 2015.
