Singapore’s Tigerair has expanded its footprint in India with the launch of flights to Lucknow.
The new route commenced on 3 December and will now operate three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) using a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. This marks the first direct flight on the Singapore-Lucknow route.
“Tigerair is constantly looking to serve new destinations that will increase connectivity and travel options for our customers,” said Tigerair’s CEO, Lee Lik Hsin.
“Lucknow will appeal to travellers looking for a cultural adventure off the beaten path. In addition to being a historically rich destination in itself, Lucknow is also a gateway to both religious and world renowned landmarks in Uttar Pradesh and nearby states.
“We hope that this new service will also bring more visitors from Uttar Pradesh to Singapore, and explore Southeast Asia and Australia from here,” he added.
Lucknow, which is the capital of India’s most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, becomes Tigerair’s sixth destination in the country, following Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Tiruchirapalli.
