Tourism Victoria in Australia has launched a new online training programme for travel agents. Road Trip Victoria is designed to help agents improve their knowledge of the Australian state.
The programme features a video showcasing the various sites and experiences available in the state, followed by a short quiz for agents who will then be entered into a prize draw. Agents who complete the programme before 31 August are eligible to win prizes which include an iPad 2 and an iPod Touch. So far the site has registered over 610 complete views of the full video and over 1,100 views of the individual region videos, while 250 agents have already entered the competition.
Claire Golding, Tourism Victoria’s Regional Manager for UK and Europe, said the programme will replace the organisation’s annual training event in a move that could pave the way forward for Tourism Victoria. “We hope that it will become an essential tool for [agents] as we plan to build on this new format and keep it up to date,” Ms Golding said.
