Transhotel set to expand into India

Madrid, 18th January 2010. Transhotel, global travel services provider and Catai Tours have signed a strategic agreement through which Grupo Transhotel’s parent company aims to establish itself in the Indian market. This established tour operator in India will assist Transhotel in its strategic action intended on allowing it to offer all its products in the continent’s second largest market. Since July Transhotel has been present in China, another emerging market in the region. This cooperation will supply the Indian market with Transhotel’s portfolio of more than 50,000 hotels as well as other products and services available to professionals in the sector through the TOR System Advanced online reservations platform. This is one of the highlights in the company’s 2008-2010 Strategic Plan, based on the development of a quality service at competitive prices in all major global markets. Catai Tours launched Catai India Private Limited in May, 2007 as we part of it’s international growth plan which since then has continued to growth both in number of travellers as well as the diversification of its activities. Catai India began with a clear vision of providing outbound travel and tourism to the Indian market thanks to its solid knowledge of its home market as well as its own travel agencies which it combines with its inbound tourism role.
Catai is the first Spanish tourism company to establish itself in India. The rubric for this venture was set in Grupo Transhotel’s main headquarters in Madrid.
