US further tightens air security

The US is tightening its air security measures even further in the wake of the attempt to blow up a Detroit-bound plane on Christmas Day. The BBC reported US Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, as saying that new measure would include enhanced random screening and more air marshals on some routes. Ms Napolitano said the steps were necessary to combat the “continued threat” from al-Qaeda.
