The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) announced on Saturday that it has commissioned a new airport project in the country’s northern province of Thanh Hoa. Local media reports suggested that the new VND2.6 trillion (US$133 million) airport would be developed 30km from the provincial capital, initially handling up to 250,000 passengers per year. This capacity will be increased to one million passengers by 2020.
