Virgin Australia has joined Tourism Australia’s ‘Best Jobs in the World’ campaign, by offering its own new position.
The airline, which was already a supporter of the campaign, will appoint one of the 18 finalists as a ‘Virgin Australia High Flyer’. The successful applicant will be tasked with uncovering new service innovations in the areas of dining, culture and entertainment.
The announcement was made at Sydney Airport last week, as the 18 international finalists arrived in Australia to start the 10-day final interview process.
“The role of High Flyer will allow us to gather rich insights, trends and new ideas in service from right across Australia to expand and enhance our own service offering. It will also give us a unique avenue to inspire local and international visitors looking for world-class service experiences when in Australia. The successful candidate will travel across the country experiencing the best each state and territory has to offer then sharing these interesting insights with us and the world,” said Virgin Australia’s chief customer officer, Mark Hassell.
The Virgin Australia role becomes the seventh ‘Best Job’ on offer, with the six others taking applicants across Australia on a series of one-year assignments, including wildlife caretaker in South Australia and park ranger in Queensland.
The winner of the Virgin Australia job will be announced on 21 June.
