New Indian airline Vistara has continued to expand its fleet with the arrival of its seventh Airbus A320 aircraft.
The new single-aisle jet arrived today and will be followed by two more A320s by the end of the year. Like its six exiting aircraft, Vistara’s latest aircraft comes equipped with 148 seats in three classes – 16 in business class, 36 in premium economy and 96 in economy.
Passengers are also offered wireless in-flight entertainment streaming services to their electronic devices, while business class passengers are offered complimentary use of Samsung Galaxy tablets.
“We are elated to announce the addition of the seventh aircraft to our current fleet,” said Vistara’s CEO, Phee Teik Yeoh. “We have received an overwhelming response from our customers who are asking for more choices of destinations and increased frequencies. It is, therefore, imperative for us to constantly expand, innovate and improvise to continue to provide a personalised and seamless travel experience to them.
“With our commitment to serve the domestic market we will add two more aircraft to our fleet that will increase our footprint by 50% in the next three months,” he added.
The new aircraft will enable Vistara to launch flights to two new destinations in the coming weeks; Bhubaneswar, which starts on 1 October, and Varanasi, which commences on 21 October.
These new routes will take the airline’s total Indian network to 12 destinations, following existing services to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Goa, Guwahati and Bagdogra.
