Singapore Airlines’ new Indian carrier, Vistara, has signed a new long-term deal with Airbus for maintenance and support services.
The Flight Hour Services Tailored Support Package starts this year, with the entry into service of Vistara’s fleet of leased Airbus A320 aircraft. The agreement will guarantee the airline services ranging from components supply and repair to full maintenance and engineering service.
An on-site Airbus team will manage daily maintenance activities, which is expected to ensure Vistara’s aircraft are air-worthy and operate on time.
“This long-term commitment recognises our confidence in Airbus to deliver the highest quality service. Having the aircraft manufacturer supporting our aircraft inventory, maintenance and engineering indeed for us is the most comprehensive solution for our operational readiness from day one,” said Rajender Singh, Vistara’s senior vice president of engineering.
A joint venture between SIA and Tata Sons, Delhi-based Vistara is expected to launch commercial flights before the end of 2014.
