Worldhotels has announced a new initiative to raise funds for young victims of the 11 March disasters in Japan. The hotel company hosted a meeting in Tokyo recently, gathering 25 hoteliers from the group’s affiliate hotels in the country, for a round table conference at RIHGA Royal Hotel Tokyo. Web-in-Travel founder, Yeoh Siew Hoon was the guest speaker during the event.
Under the Yokoso! Japan initiative, Worldhotels has pledged to provide JPY100 (US$1.20) from every reservation received and taken between 1 June to 30 September 2011, towards ‘Living Dreams’ – a children’s charity dedicated to the helping orphans of the earthquake and tsunami. This donation will be matched by affiliate hotels across Japan.
Worldhotels Vice President Asia-Pacific, Roland Jegge said; “Our Japan hoteliers are united and dedicated to working with each other, within the Worldhotels network, to continue to support Japan’s resilient people.”
