Egypt’s Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou has announced a new campaign to boost inbound tourism to the country.
The ‘Magic of the Pharaohs’ campaign will promote the country as ‘open for business’ with a focus on classic attractions including Luxor and Nile cruises.
It has been launched after numbers between July and September this year saw double-digit growth. Its UK arrival numbers are up 15-20% year-on-year with confidence coming back into the country following political unrest previously.
“We are focusing our attention on the revival of Classical Egypt; Luxor, Aswan and Nile cruises, as the Red Sea Riviera continues to be a popular beach holiday destination,” Zaazou said.
He added: “We’ve made a considerable effort to increase the level of our promotional activity, which is beginning to pay dividends. I’m feeling very optimistic about 2015 and beyond. With the support of all our tourism partners across the industry and globally, the outlook for Egypt going forward is very positive.”
