Yorkshire forges cultural exchange with Singapore

Singapore, 27 January 2010 – Welcome to Yorkshire, the official tourism agency for Yorkshire, today launched the first-ever cultural exchange programme between Singapore and Yorkshire.
To mark the official start of the programme to raise the profile of Yorkshire as a choice travel and study destination for Singaporeans, Dr N Varaprasad, Chief Executive, National Library Board, Singapore, Gary Verity, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire and prize-winning author, Suchen Christine Lim exchanged highly acclaimed novels to foster the rich history, values and thriving cultures of each community, providing great local meaning and relevance to both communities.
