111 new planes for Air India

Air India is to acquire as many as 111 new planes over the next few years and add 15 new destinations to the network, Anil Mathur reports from Hyderabad. Of the new planes, 37 have already joined the fleet, Air India’s Assistant General Manager, Vijay Lakshmi told a briefing at the PATA Travel Mart.
By 2012, the new face of Air India will see 140 aircraft – a mix of Boeing and Airbus models. Air India currently serves 52 international destinations and 59 domestic.
