Shearings Holidays has extended its fleet after it saw a 23% rise in river cruise bookings in the last year. MPS Da Vinci will operate on the Rhine, Main and Danube and the MS Seine Princess will operate solely on the Seine. “River cruising is gaining in popularity and we’re seeing a significant rise in bookings across all our cruises, particularly those on the Danube river,” said Shearings Commercial Director Caroline Brown. New itineraries have been launched in Croatia and Bordeaux, as well as a cruise on the Thames. Shearings is also tapping into the pre-cruise market with specifically-created packages. “Our new option to extend the trip with a resort stay gives holidaymakers the opportunity to offer the best of both worlds, the chance to combine a relaxing cruise experience with a cultural city break or a relaxing beach holiday,” added Brown. “In addition we’re holding prices at 2010 levels, or even lowering prices on some cruises, and offering early booking discounts to give great value.”
