London Oxford Airport will be connected to New York this Christmas, with a one-off festive flight. Oxford-based tour operator, World of Experience Tours has teamed up with CityJet and Aer Lingus to offer a five-day international Christmas shopping binge to either Dublin or the Big Apple.
The one-off service will depart Oxford for Dublin on 7th December, on CityJet’s 95-passenger Avro RJ85 jet. Those continuing to New York will be able to connect to a trans-Atlantic Aer Lingus flight via Dublin airport’s new Terminal 2. Passengers will have five days to spend in either Dublin or New York, before returning on 12th December.
“It has long been our wish to offer flights to the USA and this charter route – ideally timed for Christmas shopping – is a great start,” said London Oxford Airport’s head of route development, David Surley. “We hope this will be the beginning of more trans-Atlantic services, for which there is definitely demand from the Thames Valley area.”
World of Experience Tours’ managing director, David Gambier said his company planned to offer more fixed-departure city breaks to new destinations throughout 2012.
