Smoke forces closure of Indonesian airport

An airport in the Riau Islands, Indonesia, was forced to close yesterday after smoke from nearby woodland fires reduced visibility to dangerously low levels. The Antara news agency reported that Pinang Kampai Airport in Dumai closed temporarily as smoke drifted across the area, with low winds adding to the problem.
