Bin Laden bricks sold as tourist souvenirs
Bricks from the compound that was home to Osama bin Laden are being sold to tourists.
Orange News reported that the man who demolished the complex inAbbottabad,Pakistan, is selling the bricks and mortar as memorabilia.
Shakeel Ahmad Yusufzai paid the Pakistani government around US$4,300 for the contract to knock down the compound where Bin Laden hid for six years. Now he has hit on a lucrative new scheme – selling the rubble to souvenir-hunters from all overPakistan. The venture has come at a cost however; with Yusufzai now receiving death threats from al-Qaeda.
“I am not scared at all but sometimes I think I have put my family in danger. My wife feels scared and whenever I come home late she thinks that either I have been killed or kidnapped,” he said.
He should probably stick to ‘I ♥ Abbottabad’ t-shirts in future…
