Marina Bay Sands donates to hotel training school
Marina Bay Sands has provided a SG$150,000 (US$123,000) donation to help develop new hospitality training facilities for the Metta School in Singapore.
The funds will go towards the cost of equipping four new hospitality training rooms, including kitchens and mock hotel rooms, being built in the school’s new building.
Ninety-one students are currently undertaking the ITE Skills Certification (ISC) at Metta School, which caters to the academic needs of children with learning disabilities. It is also a designated charity of Marina Bay Sands.
“Marina Bay Sands is committed to helping the youth of Singapore achieve their potential in many ways. We believe in giving back to Singapore meaningfully, whether it is through a donation or providing educational and learning opportunities that can increase employment prospects of these young people. Going forward, we will continue to work hand in hand with partners like Metta School to make a difference to these young lives,” said Robert Harayda, Senior Vice President of Finance at Marina Bay Sands, who presented the cheque to the school.
Part of the donation will go toward assisting needy students from low-income families, subsidising costs such as school fees and transportation for those who need assistance.
