People in the north of England are travelling to Scotland to save money on their holiday, the CEO of Barrhead Travel has claimed.
The company, which has seen a 20% rise in English people flying from Scotland, has put the increase down to inflated prices during school holidays, which finish earlier in Scotland.
According to reports, a holiday in August can cost the average English family twice as much as it would in June because of the school holiday factor. However, in Scotland the school holidays finish at the beginning of August, explaining the notable increase in departures.
