MapmyIndia, a GPS navigation service provider in India has collaborated with Qualcomm Incorporated to launch CarPad, a 7-inch navigator packed with features such as in-car entertainment, 3G connectivity and 3D navigation. The device can be used anywhere in the car and is centered on the traveller on the go.
The Carpad is a device designed to make travelling smart, efficient and convenient. It has all the standard features of a tablet, molded to adhere to the needs of the travellers. The device is equipped with voice guidelines that give travellers from turn to turn 3D view of buildings and terrains, house levels and travel guides on its screen using MapmyIndia’s in-house navigation interface – Aura.
CarPad is priced at US$297 (INR 22,990) which includes the CarPad device with 3g, Wi-Fi, 8GB SD card memory, pre-installed MapmyIndia Navigator Aura, as well as Car-kit costing US$151 (INR6,990). MapmyIndia CarPad will be available from 15 September 2011.
