GREG PIRKLE has been appointed general manager at Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. He brings with him over 25 years of experience. In April, Pirkle will make the transition from Riyadh to Bahrain to lead the pre-opening team as the hotel prepares to open its doors in the last quarter of 2014.
LEE GOBLE has been appointed executive chef at Madinat Jumeirah. He will oversee all culinary activities across Madinat Jumeirah’s three hotels – Mina A’Salam,Al Qasr, and Dar Al Masyaf to ensure consistency of food and service.
GAETAN LAVOIE has been appointed corporate director of technical services at TIME Hotels Management. He brings with him over 22 years of experience. In his new role, he will be in charge of all engineering projects throughout the TIME property portfolio.
BERNARD FANTOLI has been appointed corporate director of F&B at TIME Hotels Management. He brings with him over 25 years of experience within the food and beverage hospitality industry. Fantoli will be managing food and beverage production and guest service at each of the individual property. He is also to develop a comprehensive upgrade of food & beverage product for the overall TIME portfolio.
CHRISTIAN CLERC has been promoted to senior vice president, hotel operations, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. In his new role based in Dubai, Clerc will lead hotel operations across EMEA and report to Christopher Norton, executive vice president, global product and operations and support the company’s increased focus on product and service differentiation.
IAN JONES has been appointed general manager for Alila Seminyak. He has worked across key brands such as Starwood, Fairmont, Hilton and, most recently, Orient Express Hotels & Resorts. He will be responsible for overseeing all operations and managing 240 rooms, which include 72 suites and 69 residences, plus an extensive events space, a Spa Alila and restaurants.
WAYNE KAFCSAK has been appointed managing director of Fregate Island Private in Seychelles. He brings with him 35 years of experience in luxury international resorts. In his new role, he will report to Didier Le Calvez, senior vice-president operations and sales & marketing at Oetker Collection.
JAYNE O’BRIEN has been appointed senior vice president – global brands at InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG). She will be responsible for overseeing brand vision and strategy across IHG’s global portfolio of nine brands.
AMR ABDEL SAMIE has been appointed general manager at Radisson Blu Resort, Sharm El Sheikh and Park Inn by Radisson Resort Sharm El Sheikh. Amr joins the group from Princess Hotels in Hurghada where he was responsible for three hotels as the area general manager. He is now tasked with managing profitability of the properties, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction.
DANIEL JOHNSON has been appointed executive chef at Jumeirah Dhevanafushi. He will run Jumeirah Dhevanafushi’s three main restaurants Azara, Johara and Mumayaz, ensuring quality food and service throughout the resort.
