Pune airport to resume normal operations

Lohegaon airport in Pune will resume normal operations from 16 April 2014.
The airport currently operates limited flight schedule between 10:30 to 22:00 hours every day to facilitate the Indian Air Force (IAFs) ongoing Modernisation of Airfield Infrastructure (MAFI) work that commenced from 15 January.
Manoj Gangal, airport director at Pune told the Times of India said, “The MAFI work, which is now nearing completing, will extend a major fillip to civilian flight operations. All the basic infrastructure work required to make the air field CAT-II compliant has been completed. This includes work for installation of CAT II level instrument landing system (ILS) and air field lighting system (AFLS).”
Post-installation, the ILS is scheduled to be commissioned in September.
