A Vietnam Airlines plane carrying 134 passengers from Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to Quy Nhon was forced to turn back after a cockpit alarm sounded. Local media reports suggested that the alarm, which alerted pilots that the wheel wells weren’t closed, was triggered incorrectly. The plane landed back at HCMC where checks showed that an error with the plane’s sensors had caused the alarm. The incident marks the second emergency landing in a week for Vietnam Airlines. Last weekend a cracked windscreen forced a Boeing 737 travelling from HCMC to Hanoi to land in Danang.
