First Bahraini elected to BAR UK

Gulf Air’s country manager for the UK, Rashid Abdulrahman AlGaoud, has been elected to the position of board member of the Board of Airline Representatives in the UK (BAR UK) – the first Bahraini to join.
BAR UK is an industry association representing the majority of airlines operating to the UK.
AlGaoud said he was delighted and would be “adding my voice to issues that affect airlines including, government policy, regulation, airport capacity, environment, border control, taxation and charges”.
“I look forward to making a positive contribution while raising awareness of Gulf Air’s longstanding ties to the United Kingdom and the airline’s ongoing commitment to industry best practices.,” he added.
Gulf Air has had a strong presence in the United Kingdom since its first flight to London Heathrow in 1970, and currently operates double daily flights to London.
The Board of Airline Representatives in the UK presents the widest international voice of the airline industry; representing 75 scheduled airlines in the UK in their dealings with government departments, regulators and airport operators.
