Newly-merged TUI Group has established a separate company to group together its hotels.
TUI Hotel Betriebsgesellschaft (Operating Company) mbH will be led by Artur Gerber as CEO from mid-February to oversee strategy and expansion.
This will include the introduction of around 50 new hotels that are expected to join the TUI brand in the next five years.
Gerber joins the group from HMS Hotel Management Service GmbH where he was CEO and responsible for the internationalisation of the Maritim Hotel Group.
His tourism career started in 1986 as a hotel business trainee at Dorint Hotels & Resorts and has also worked with Center Parcs Germany and Aldiana.
Thomas Pietzka, director of TUI Hotels & Resorts said: “I am delighted that we have engaged such an experienced manager with Artur Gerber. He has all the skills it takes to successfully develop our new hotel brand and profitably position it in the market.”
