Oman Air recently inked a memorandum of understanding with Riyada, the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprise Development.
This MoU will offer ease of access to the airline’s supply chain for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The partnership allows SMEs registered with Riyada to bid for contracts with Oman Air in an efficient way. The SMEs will be registered with the airline’s supply chain department, enabling them to identify and schedule business opportunities.
Paul Gregorowitsch added: “The partnerships business opportunities will have a positive impact on Oman’s economy. They will also help to increase Oman Air’s indirect contribution to the nation; a contribution which totalled more than OMR 400 million in 2014.”
The MoU was initiated by Dr Khalid Abdul Wahab Ahmed Al Balushi, senior manager Government Relations and Sustainability. The MoU was signed as the airline continues its programme of expansion. This will see the carrier’s fleet grow by 2020 to 70 aircraft, consisting of 25 wide-body aircraft and 45 narrow-body jets.
